The links of an Italian charm bracelet have a small spring inside that holds them together. You don't need to force them open: you just need to bend them at the right angle.
To remove a link
- Hold the bracelet with both hands, with the link you want to remove in the middle.
- Bend the bracelet backwards at that point, forming a V, so the links separate.
- With your thumb, slide the link sideways until its hook comes out of the next link.
- Repeat on the other side and the link comes free.
To add a charm
- Open the bracelet where you want the charm, just like above.
- Tilt the charm and slide its hook into the link on one side.
- Do the same on the other side and straighten the bracelet: the spring closes the links on its own.
Tips
- Use the adjusting tool: it separates the links effortlessly. We include it free with 7 charms or more.
- Check that the charm sits straight with the design facing out.
- If a link doesn't close properly, bend and release the bracelet again so the spring settles.
